Privacy Policy — Co-Watcher AI

Co-Watcher AI is a Chrome extension that adds an AI character co-watcher to Netflix. This policy describes what data the extension sends to our servers and how it is used.

Single purpose

The extension has one purpose: while you watch Netflix, it shows and speaks an AI character's reactions to moments in the show.

Data the extension sends to our servers

• Subtitle text, show title, and episode identifier — sent only while you are on netflix.com with a co-watcher character selected. This is required to determine the character's reaction. Requests are processed to return the reaction and are not used to build a profile of your viewing.
• Selected character name — sent with each request so the right character's reaction is returned.

Data stored on your device

Your selected character is stored in Chrome's extension storage on your device (and synced by Chrome if you have extension sync enabled). It is not transmitted to us except as described above.

What we do not collect

• No name, email address, or account information — the extension has no sign-up.
• No browsing history outside netflix.com.
• No Netflix account data, passwords, or payment information.

Data retention

Reaction requests may appear in short-lived server request logs used for operating and debugging the service and are automatically discarded. We do not keep any per-user records.

Data sharing and sale

We do not sell user data. We do not share user data with third parties, use it for advertising, use it to determine creditworthiness, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose described above. Our servers are hosted on Fly.io, which processes traffic as our infrastructure provider.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
